7. Children's Privacy
DayInspire is designed for adults. Children ages 13-17 may use the service with verifiable parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
Before using our AI-powered features, all users must verify their age. This is required to ensure age-appropriate support and comply with child protection regulations including COPPA.
8. AI Technology & Your Privacy
DayInspire uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized support and encouragement. We believe in complete transparency about how this technology works:
Explicit Consent for AI Processing
Before you can use our AI-powered features, we require your explicit consent to process your personal information, including health-related data. This consent is obtained through a clear confirmation step before any conversation begins.
Withdrawing Consent: You can withdraw your consent at any time by:
- Emailing privacy@dayinspire.com with the subject "Withdraw AI Consent"
- Deleting your account through your account settings
- Contacting us through any method listed on our contact page
Withdrawing consent will prevent future AI processing of your data but does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Under GDPR Article 9, information about your mental health, emotional state, and personal challenges constitutes "special category data" that requires explicit consent for processing. We take this responsibility seriously and never process such data without your informed agreement.
How We Use AI
- AI Companion: Our companion feature uses OpenAI's language models (GPT-4o-mini for conversations, GPT-4o for safety detection) to listen and respond with empathy
- AI Coach: Our coaching feature uses Anthropic's Claude models to provide supportive life coaching conversations
- Personalized Messages: AI helps craft encouraging messages tailored to your stated preferences and challenges
- Crisis Detection: We use AI to identify when someone may need immediate professional support
AI Coach Data Processing
When you use AI Coach, the following information is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing:
- Your Messages: The content you type in the coaching conversation
- Context: Relevant context from your profile preferences to personalize responses (your challenges, tone preferences)
- Conversation History: Recent messages from the current session to maintain context
What is NOT shared with AI providers: Your email address, password, display name, or any personally identifiable account information is never sent to AI service providers.
Your Conversations Are Private
- No Training: Your conversations are never used to train AI models
- No Storage by AI Providers: We use API configurations that prevent OpenAI and Anthropic from retaining your data beyond what's needed to process your request
- Minimal Retention: We only store what's needed to provide the service and improve your experience
Deleting AI Coach Conversations
You can delete your AI Coach conversation history at any time through your account settings or by using the delete option within the Coach interface. When you delete a conversation:
- All messages in that session are permanently removed from our servers
- This deletion cannot be undone
- Data that has already been processed by AI providers cannot be recalled (but is not retained by them)
Automated Decision-Making
Under GDPR Article 22, you have rights regarding automated decision-making. DayInspire uses AI to:
- Generate Responses: AI creates personalized supportive messages based on your input
- Detect Crisis Situations: AI helps identify when someone may need immediate professional support
- Personalize Content: AI tailors encouragement based on your stated preferences
These automated processes do not make legally binding decisions about you. They provide supportive content and suggestions only. You always retain full control over your decisions and actions. If you have concerns about how automated processing affects you, please contact us.
AI Limitations
Our AI features are designed to listen, validate, and encourage—not to provide therapy, medical advice, or crisis intervention. AI responses are provided by automated systems, not human professionals.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where our servers and third-party service providers are located.
When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place:

- Data Processing Agreements: We have agreements in place with our service providers that require them to protect your data
- Security Measures: All data transfers use encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, please be aware that your data will be processed in the United States. By using our Service, you consent to this transfer. You may contact us to learn more about the specific safeguards we have in place.
